Plant Identify provides a free, AI-assisted tool that attempts to identify plant and flower species from user-submitted photographs, along with general informational content such as care guides, watering and sunlight suggestions, and toxicity notes.

The service is provided free of charge and without any account or registration. We may impose usage limits, change features, or discontinue any part of the service at any time without notice.

4. Identification Results Are Not Guaranteed — Important Disclaimer

This is the most important section of these Terms. Please read it carefully.

  • Plant identification results are generated by automated artificial intelligence systems and are provided for general informational and educational purposes only.
  • Results are estimates, not verified botanical determinations. The AI can and does return incorrect matches, including confident-looking matches that are wrong.
  • Accuracy depends heavily on photo quality, lighting, camera angle, plant maturity, season, region, and how visually similar a species is to others.
  • Care information, toxicity notes, edibility information, and disease suggestions are general summaries and may not apply to your specific plant, climate, soil, or circumstances.

4.1 Do Not Rely on This Site for Safety Decisions

Never use this Site as the basis for deciding whether a plant is safe to eat, touch, brew, burn, apply to skin, or give to a child or animal. Many toxic plants closely resemble edible ones, and a misidentification can cause serious illness or death.

  • Do not consume, forage, or prepare any plant based on a result from this Site.
  • Do not use this Site to diagnose or treat poisoning in a person or pet.
  • If you suspect plant poisoning, contact your local poison control centre, a doctor, or a veterinarian immediately.
  • For any decision that matters, confirm the identification with a qualified botanist, horticulturist, agricultural extension office, or an authoritative regional field guide.

4.2 Not Professional Advice

Nothing on this Site constitutes medical, veterinary, agricultural, horticultural, legal, or other professional advice. No professional relationship is created by your use of the Site. Always seek the advice of a qualified professional for your specific situation.

5. Photos You Upload

5.1 Your Responsibilities

When you upload an image to the Site, you represent and warrant that:

  • You own the photograph or have all necessary rights and permissions to upload it;
  • The image does not infringe any copyright, trademark, privacy right, publicity right, or other right of any third party;
  • The image does not contain unlawful, obscene, defamatory, hateful, or otherwise objectionable content;
  • The image does not contain identifiable people, private documents, license plates, or other personal information. The tool is for plants only.

5.2 Limited Licence to Us

By uploading an image, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, transmit, and process that image solely for the purpose of generating your identification result and operating the service. This licence ends when the image is deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

We do not claim ownership of your photos. We do not sell, publish, or license your photos to advertisers or third parties for marketing purposes.

5.3 Processing by Third Parties

Uploaded images are transmitted to our third-party AI image-recognition provider for analysis. By uploading, you consent to this transmission. See our Privacy Policy for details.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Site for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation;
  • Upload malware, viruses, or any code designed to disrupt, damage, or gain unauthorised access to the Site or any system;
  • Use bots, scrapers, crawlers, or automated scripts to access, copy, or harvest content or to submit images at scale;
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract the underlying models, algorithms, or datasets used by the identification tool;
  • Bypass, disable, or interfere with any rate limits, security features, or access restrictions;
  • Republish, resell, or commercially redistribute our content or identification results without written permission;
  • Frame, mirror, or misrepresent the Site as your own service;
  • Interfere with any other user’s use of the Site, or place unreasonable load on our infrastructure;
